Position Highlights
- Position: Clinical Coordinator
- Location: Edward Hospital
- Full Time: 40 hours per week
- Hours: Evening shift, 1p-1am/3pm-3am- hours vary; weekends
As the RN Clinical Unit Coordinator you will assume a critical role in the coordination and management of clinical operations within your designated unit. You will lead a team of nursing staff, ensuring efficient patient care delivery, adherence to protocols, and the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare.
What You Will Do
- Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff within the unit. Ensure compliance with established clinical protocols, safety standards, and the delivery of high-quality care.
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff. Manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Oversee the delivery of patient-centered care within the unit. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans, address patient inquiries, and resolve concerns promptly.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives within the unit. Participate in audits and compliance efforts, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions to improve patient outcomes.
- Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and budget allocation. Monitor and control expenses while maintaining high care standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures, within the unit. Maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant care environment.
- Facilitate ongoing education and training for unit nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. Stay updated on the latest developments in healthcare and clinical practices.
- Oversee the accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions within the electronic health record system.
- Collaborate with other departments, including physicians, care coordination teams, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and enhance the patient experience.
- Bachelors Degree Nursing Required Or
- Masters Degree Nursing Preferred Or
- Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred
- 3 Years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Required And
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Required And
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification Required
